  1. 1. Mark the important parts

Use the drawing tools and whiteboard while you explain.

  2. 2. Keep the content visible

Every detail designed for teaching

Not a generic screen recorder—a tool that truly understands how teachers teach.

✍️

Real-time annotation

Draw, arrow, highlight, and box directly on your screen while you teach. Whatever you point at gets marked, and the annotations are baked right into the recording.

🔍

Zoom to focus

Magnify the part you are explaining with one tap, and let it follow your cursor. Code, formulas, and tiny details stay crystal clear.

🎥

Camera picture-in-picture

Circle or rounded face window, your choice, with mirror, zoom, and border options. Show your face and make your lessons feel more personal.

💬

On-device subtitles

Built-in whisper.cpp transcribes offline. Nothing is ever uploaded. Then "edit the text to cut the video"—delete a wrong line and the matching clip is trimmed automatically.

✨

One-click smart cut

Automatically detect and remove silences, filler words (um, uh, you know), and repeated retakes. Clean up a whole lesson in seconds.

🔒

Local processing, no uploads

Recording, editing, and subtitles all happen on your own computer. Your original footage never leaves your machine. Zero privacy worries.

Record, edit, export—three steps to a finished video

From opening the app to sending the video to your students, the whole process is simpler than you think.

1

Record

Capture full-screen or a region, with annotation, zoom, camera, whiteboard, and spotlight—explain it clearly in one take.

2

Edit

Open the editor, get auto-generated subtitles, remove silences / filler words / noise in one click, and add intros, music, and stickers.

3

Export

Export to mp4 at the resolution you want, with subtitles burned in. Open the output folder in one click and send it straight to your students.

Frequently asked questions

How do the desktop and mobile apps differ?
The desktop app records and edits screen-based lessons and tutorials. The mobile app prepares scripts, prompts your delivery and records video. Features, system requirements and purchase options are described separately.
Where can I download Penbeam?
Use the download page for Mac and Windows, or the mobile page for App Store, Google Play and Chinese Android store options. Availability depends on your region, device and store.
Why can I not find a mobile recording in Works or Photos?
Finish the post-recording preview and save or export the recording. Keeping a work in the app and exporting it to Photos are separate steps. Check the save result and photo-library permission. Export important works before uninstalling or clearing app data.
Do different sign-in methods open the same account?
Not necessarily. Whether Google, Apple, Huawei or email sign-in opens the same account depends on previous linking. Review connected sign-in methods in the app. If your account or Pro access differs, contact support before purchasing again.
What is included for free and with Pro?
Free limits and Pro features depend on the app and purchase screen. Website pricing describes desktop plans. For mobile, review the price, period and features in the app instead of assuming different platforms sell identical purchases.
Are my recordings uploaded?
Desktop recording and editing, and locally saved mobile recordings, do not require uploading the original video for those operations. Account, payment and source-analytics data have separate handling rules. Check the relevant feature information and privacy policy for online features.
